The Accelerated Timeline
Why the compression is the point, and why noticing it out loud does not slow it down.

Months in days
Declarations of love within two weeks. Pet names within one. Talk of a shared future before a shared meal. The pace is not enthusiasm getting away from someone - it is the operating requirement.
Why the compression is necessary
Emotional investment is the currency being accumulated, and it has to be built before scrutiny develops. A relationship examined over six months does not survive contact with reality. A relationship built in three weeks has not been examined at all, and by then walking away feels like a loss rather than a decision.
The part people get wrong
Most people think they would notice. Many do notice - and it does not help.
If you say the pace feels fast, a competent operator will agree with you. They will call it scary. They will say they have never done this before either. Then the pace continues unchanged. Acknowledging the speed is not a correction, it is a technique, and it is more persuasive than denial because it makes them seem self-aware.
What to do
Watch what happens after the acknowledgement, not the acknowledgement itself. If someone agrees the pace is fast and then slows down, that is a person. If they agree and then carry on, the agreement was a move.
Give it time deliberately. Not because you suspect anything, but because time is the one thing this pattern cannot survive.
What to carry out of this
- Compression exists to build investment before scrutiny can develop
- Agreeing that the pace is fast is a technique, not a correction
- Judge by what happens after the acknowledgement
